NEW MALAYS are the majority people leading and living
in Selangor and KL, being the two Highly Industrialized
States in Malaysia, with a combined population of more
than 8.0 million people. They are also the majority people
leading and living in Malaysia, being a solid NIC, with a
population of more than 30 million people. New Malays
share the same religion, language, and culture.
MALAY WORLD is a new geographical concept to be
called “Nusantara”. It has a Malay-Indonesian Language
identity with cultural similarity, located in the ASEAN
environment. It consists of Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei,
Singapore, Timor-Leste, parts of the Philippines, and
Southern Thailand. Nusantara Race can flourish through
alliances between Malays and the local Chinese.
GLOBAL MALAY WORLD is a greater Nusantara to be
called “Austronesia”. It covers an extensive maritime area
from Madagascar until New Zealand, Taiwan and Hawaii.
Austronesian people share a variety of Malay-Indonesian
anguage dialects and culture.
ZAHARI AWANG was the author of an earlier book in
Malay-“Melayu dan Nusantara”. He was a student activist,
being past Presidents of student organizations in KL and
London – Malay students, Multi-Ethnic Malaysian students,
and Multi-National Islamic students. Zahari has worked as
lecturer, researcher, consultant, and industry practitioner for
about 40 years. He lives in KL (City Centre) and in
Kota Bharu (Section 1).
